This piece draws from the historic claw and ball motif, a symbol of power, protection, and frozen tension — a predator clutching its prize in a moment of still dominance. Once carved into antique European furniture, the design echoes the gothic remnants of Old World Europe, the same world that gave rise to the myth of Dracula. Much like Dracula, the crow is known in folklore as a creature of the night and a bringer of death.
